Do you want to cure external hemorrhoids? If you have hemorrhoids, you know how itchy, painful, and just plain uncomfortable they can be! After the birth of my last child, I had horrible hemorrhoids. In fact, they were so bad I was afraid to go to the bathroom. So I took the stool softener they had given me at the hospital and hoped for the best, but I think the only thing that resulted in was baby diarrhea.

However, I wish I had known some other ways to cure external hemorrhoids. The truth is, over the counter creams and tucks pads might relieve the symptoms for a while, but they don't cure the problem. You see, hemorrhoids are really varicose veins caused by pressure on the anus. In my case, the pressure from giving birth made the veins pop out. The muscles then contract around the vein, not allowing it to go back in.

The creams relieve the itching and act as a relaxer to help that hemorrhoid shrink back up. However, the weakness in the vein is still there.

So what are your options? One method to cure external hemorrhoids that many people turn to is surgery. Usually, surgery involves taking a band and tying off the vein that's sticking out. That tissue dies and then falls off. However, there's a chance you could get new hemorrhoids in that spot.

Another method you can use is diet. Sometimes, you can improve your bowel habits through diet, which will reduce pressure on that vein and allow it to shrink. Increasing your fiber levels in one way to do this.

A third method is exercise. One of the primary causes of hemorrhoids is being sedentary. By getting exercise, you increase your muscle tone and blood flow, which can help cure external hemorrhoids. Also, by taking pressure off your bottom, you help that hemorrhoid shrink faster.
