Thrombosed hemorrhoids are the ones clotted under the rectum, around the anus. The external thrombosed hemorrhoids can be seen visually and felt when touched upon. Thrombosed External hemorrhoids develop around the anus and we should immediately try out certain methods to shrink them. A surgery can be performed to remove the clots. The pain caused by thrombosed external hemorrhoids is severe. To reduce this pain we need to practice or try out certain popular methods.

Some of the popular methods include: The body must not get dehydrated. Drink plenty of water everyday which eases bowel movement. You can use hemorrhoid creams as suggested by your doctor.. Wash the affected area with warm, salt water gently. Eat fiber rich diet. Exercise regularly. Take a walk in the early morning hours. Do not put excess pressure on the bowels. Use toilet papers very gently over the affected area. Do not rub the infected area as it may increase the severity of thrombosed external hemorrhoids.

Some of the Medical treatments to cure external hemorrhoids include:

The method used for treating internal hemorrhoids is rubber band Ligation. It effectively cuts the supply of blood. The hemorrhoid shrinks and disappears slowly within 2-3 weeks. This method is recommended for internal hemorrhoids treatment.

The method called Sclerotherapy is an internal hemorrhoid treatment.. It results in loss of blood circulation due to a hardening agent injected in the hemorrhoid. The hemorrhoid then shrinks and disappears without causing any harm.

Infrared coagulation - this is a procedure of burning the thrombosed hemorrhoid by using infrared light.

Hemorroiectomy - An effective method to remove hemorrhoid surgically is Hemorrhoidectomy. When hemorrhoids clot this method is used.

During the surgery of
thrombosed external hemorrhoid
, this blood clot removal method is one where the clot is removed using surgical instruments. It is a very simple method. After the surgery is over use a cream that can be applied on the surgery wound for a certain period of time. It is also important to monitor body weight. Over weight of a person puts a lot of pressure on the rectum. Sitting in the same place for a long period of time is not recommended.

Thrombosed external hemorrhoids can create many problems and discomfort to your body as well as your mind. In spite of the pain becoming unbearable, the doctors would never suggest for a surgery. If the case is not severe, in most cases, creams, lotions and warm baths can solve the problem. Change in diet can also help one recover from the problem. Doctors recommend a surgery only when the condition is advanced.

- Horse chestnut prevents prolapse of hemorrhoids. It increases blood flow, strengthen connective tissue, decrease swelling and redness and tighten up veins.

Philosophy 101 question?

Why is it only drug dealers and software developers call their clients 'users'? Does the Little Mermaid wear an algebra? Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery? How is it possible to have a civil war? If God dropped acid, would he see people? If one synchronized swimmer drowns, do the rest drown too? If you ate pasta and antipasta, would you still be hungry?
If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done? Why are hemorrhoids called "hemorrhoids" instead of "assteroids"? Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot at them? Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of that song? Where are we going? And what's with this handbasket? If the black box flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why isn't the whole airplane made out of the stuff? Why is there an expiration date on sour cream? If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

Excellent. You are doing well in describing the imprecise nature of communication. Hence philosophy, based on communicated ideas is a subject w/o verifiable scientific means, a proven dysfunctional language base, and the ability of creative people to write questions with meaning but meaningless in their answers. I salute you as you begin you quest.

Can I use a needle to lance/pop a thrombosed external hemorrhoid myself? Or will the emergency room doctor do it? I am out of town so can't see my family doctor and can't wait until I go home next week.

If you do it yourself, you are risking a lot. It isn't like a pimple that you can easily pop. They are very vascular and tend to bleed a lot. The ER is the place to start. They shouldn't "pop" it in the ER, unless they have something to tie it off with, band it, or cauterize it to stop the bleeding. They may just tell you to ice it or give you something for the pain. Then, when you get home, see your doctor to set up a time for the small surgical procedure. If you do decide to do it yourself, expect excessive blood loss, pain, and potential infection.

You may have gone through many kinds of hemorrhoids treatment as you try to find the right one for your condition. There are a lot that can be effective, but only for a short period of time. Only a few can be effective enough that you would no longer suffer the pain of hemorrhoids afterwards. There are 3 practical solutions to the condition that are more popular than other kinds of hemorrhoids treatment. These are the use of creams and ointments, the use of suppositories, and the use of pills and supplements.

Let's take a look at the first one. Using creams and ointments is very popular among hemorrhoid sufferers, mainly because the creams and ointments offer fast relief as soon as you rub them on your outer rectal area. It helps soothe the pain of the condition, and helps ease your suffering due to inflammation and irritation. The creams and ointments relaxes your blood vessels and tissues, so your swollen hemorrhoids will ease up a little and relieve you of the pain.

The problem with creams and ointments is that the relief they offer is only for a short period of time. It will only be temporary, so long as the cream or ointment has not yet faded from where you applied it. Creams and ointments are not meant to be permanent relief when it comes to hemorrhoids.

The use of suppositories is also very popular. It is inserted inside your rectum to give moisture to the hemorrhoid vein that is swollen. It gives a lubricating effect when the next rectal pressure comes. The whole purpose of this treatment is to heal the hemorrhoids without causing a rupture again. This kind of treatment may not work well on some people, but it is worth an inquiry. It might very well work on you.

Last of the most popular treatments is the use of pills and supplements. This is also by far and quite obviously the easiest treatment against hemorrhoids. There are a lot of hemorrhoid pills and pain relief supplements available everywhere today. Their main purpose is to help the regulation of blood pressure in the body's system. It also tightens the hemorrhoid vein tissue and help reduce side effects.

This three are the most popular practical solutions to treating hemorrhoids. Be informed, however, that these do not offer a permanent cure. They most usually only offer short-term pain relief. If you are looking for a permanent cure, you will have to opt for other kinds of treatment.

Do not despair if these three popular methods do not work for you. They may be the most common but other kinds of hemorrhoids treatment might be better for you. You can still opt for these other options, like surgery or cryotherapy. Hemorrhoids is a very common condition, and there have been many proven treatments that can help you ease the pain. It is just recommended that you first try the safer forms of treatment before going over to extreme measures to cure your hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoid, also called piles, is a common condition that can afflict anyone at least once before they turn 70 years old. Pregnant women and nursing mothers are especially prone to this problem. This is characterized by the swelling of veins and tissues located in the rectum and the inner and outer part of the anal canal, leading to:

o	Extreme discomfort around the anal area when sitting

o	Pain during defecation

o	Specks of bright-colored blood in the stool

o	Palpable tender lumps around the anus

o	Anal itching

Why Does Childbirth Lead to Hemorrhoid?

Women undergo several bodily changes during pregnancy and after delivery. These changes are the core cause of the development of hemorrhoids. Some of the major causes for hemorrhoids in pregnancy are:

o	Pressure from the growing baby: This pressure leads to the enlargement of the anal veins.

o	Hormonal changes in the body: Progesterone levels in the body rises significantly. This makes the gastrointestinal tract sluggish, resulting in increased intestinal absorption of water from the waste. This hardens the stools, leading to constipation.

o	Reduced physical activity: During pregnancy, women tend to reduce their physical activity, leading to increase constipation.

What Are the Effective Treatments for Hemorrhoids in Nursing Mothers?

Many nursing mothers avoid taking medications, due to concerns regarding the affect of drugs on the child. Such mothers can use various home and natural remedies to treat hemorrhoids:

Herbal remedies: Manufactured with natural products, such as witch hazel, calendula, yarrow and shea butter, these remedies:

o	Are free from side effects

o	Provide a long lasting and non-surgical solution

o	Enter the bloodstream to facilitate comfortable bowel movement

o	Restore normal blood flow to the rectum area

o	Act as a natural anesthetic

o	Provide instant relief from pain and discomfort

o	Offer immediate relief from skin irritation caused by damaged rectal tissues

o	Accelerate healing of torn and damaged tissues in the rectal area

Essentials oils: Essential oils, such as peppermint oil and lavender oil, consist of botanical vitamins, hormones and antibiotics, all of which help in eliminating hemorrhoids. These oils are 75-100 times more concentrated than dried herbs. Since these oils are highly potent, only a small amount is needed to provide relief. Essential oils:

o	Are natural treatments safe for lactating mothers and babies

o	Stop bleeding instantly

o	Provide instant relief from pain

o	Reduce swelling and heal hemorrhoids

Lactating mothers must also increase their fiber intake, since fiber softens and increases the bulk of the stool. This helps in easy bowel movements, and prevents hemorrhoids.
